From The Desk Of Donna M. Turner
Writing has changed my life. Writing has saved my life. How often I have uttered these words or written them in my journal since I started writing. And how often have others - acquaintances, friends, published writers - told me that my writing has helped them heal from loss, personal tragedy or in this case shared with them the love affair of the Corvette.
The Corvettes... of Course newsletter began 12 years ago as a personal request from my husband. He needed credentials to go into the pits at Daytona Race Track. Loving both the Corvette and writing, I wrote an issue so he could get a press pass. The press pass never happened but what evolved from 10 sample copies of Corvettes... of Course; Ten turned to 500 readers within a year. I've been writing ever since. I believe that writing has changed each of us, helping us all come to the terms that there is a great emotion involved in a Corvette love affair.
How often have I been reading a writer's published journal or letters and stumbled upon an admission that without writing, life just wouldn't be worth living? Writing continues to give purpose and meaning to my life. Yet, because I am healing from major surgery, this newsletter has been reduced to a news bulletin. Through it all, I have consciously found the inspiration for my writing and hope we can all continue to share and enjoy artistic words and stories about a beautiful automobile, the all American Corvette.
A Corvette Wave To You,
